Lots of guys had scepters in their hands while watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, mainly because they were staryn’ at Karyn Parsons as snobbish socialite Hilary Banks. Too bad that Karyn didn’t get the job sooner, though, since she might have turned down her first film: the horrible killer-sauna slasher flick Death Spa (1989). She went on to post-Prince roles in films such as Mixing Nia (1998) and The Ladies Man (2000) and in TV series like Melrose Place. Karyn also brought her big’uns back to the small screen on the underseen Denis Leary cop show The Job. Viewers had no idle hands while she pranced around in lingerie and bikinis. All we needed was one moon from Karyn in 13 Moons (2002) to feel like we hadn’t been cheated of her beautiful body. Alas, there was no ass, but there were bra-clad boobies when Karyn did a striptease before jumping into a pool. It hurts us to say that Karyn stopped acting after those roles, but it’s true. She went most of the 2000s and nearly all of the 2010s without putting her pretty self on the screen. She returned in a 2018 short film called On Monday of Last Week and followed that up with a role in the feature Sweet Thing (2020), but she seems to be most proud of her debut novel “How High the Moon.” Mr. Skin is desperate for nudity. He’s going to ask a parson for God’s skintervention in the case of Ms. Parsons.
